Click and tap targets are too small on WordPress

What this is

3 controls are smaller than 24×24 pixels with no spacing around them. People with tremors or on phones easily tap the wrong thing.

Who it affects

  • People with motor disabilities
  • People with low vision

Standards

How to fix it

  1. Make small links/buttons at least 24×24 CSS pixels (44×44 is better for touch).
  2. You can enlarge the clickable area with padding without changing the visible icon size.
  3. Or leave at least 24px of space between small targets.

On WordPress

Customizer → Additional CSS: give small links/buttons `min-width: 24px; min-height: 24px` (44px is better for touch) or add padding.
