Page has no title on Squarespace

What this is

The page has no `<title>`. It is the first thing a screen reader announces and the label of the browser tab.

Who it affects

  • Screen reader users
  • People with cognitive disabilities
  • Keyboard users

Standards

How to fix it

  1. Add a `<title>` inside `<head>` that is unique to this page and describes its purpose.
  2. Put the specific page name first, then the site name: "Pricing – Acme".

Example

Before

<head>
  …
</head>

After

<head>
  …
  <title>TODO: Page name – Site name</title>
</head>

Every page needs its own distinct title.

On Squarespace

Page settings (gear) → SEO → SEO Title.
